Middle School Summer Activity Adventure

Join us on a adventure to find fun ways to keep learning in the summer months and maybe earn a surprise! Activities include cooking, going on a virtual field trip, creating a short play, journaling and more!

 

How to Play

  1. Continue to follow health and safety guidelines outlined by Washington State while completing activities.
  2. Choose activities from the board to complete (download a PDF version).
  3. Track the activities you’ve completed it and add up your points.
  4. Once you’ve completed 200 points worth of activities, complete our Activity Adventure form to share about your adventure! We do not require a copy of your board.

After your form is received, you’ll receive more information about how the Northshore Schools Foundation wants to celebrate and recognize students with a fun surprise!

Read Daily (Middle School)

Read daily or have someone read to you (in any language you know) for 6 weeks! With the help of a parent or guardian, consider reading a book about a new topic or culture.

Try cooking (with the help and permission of an adult).

Virtual Calming Room

Make an obstacle course or scavenger hunt for others and/or visit the Virtual Calming Room.

Write a letter to someone you care about or to a leader about an issue that is important to you.

Make up a dance and perform it for friends or family.

Read a book from a new genre.

Build a Recycled Structure (Middle School)

Use recycled materials you find around your home (with adult permission) to build a tall structure, 3 feet or taller,  that can stand up by itself.

Picture of Nature (Middle and High School)

Draw/take a picture of nature and practice with shading, tones, light, etc.

New Words

Create a journal of new words with definitions you encounter via conversation and reading (in English and/or any other language you speak) for 6 weeks.

Interview an adult and ask how they use math in their everyday life.

Write/blog in a journal at least once a week for 6 weeks.
