Our annual Back-to-School Fair is Monday, August 28. Many activities are planned in the cafeteria for this day: Viking spirit wear will be on sale along with various club representatives to provide club information and answer any questions you may have. All students will have the opportunity to purchase ASB cards, yearbooks, pay the October PSAT testing fee, and finalize online parking pass purchases. Save time—pay online! Get your PIN early (see Credit Card Payments section later in this packet) and pay at https://schoolsales.nsd.org before the Fair to avoid standing in line. Parents may also sign up for their PIN at the Fair.
Student Parking Registration
Student Parking Applications for the 2017-18 school year are on the Inglemoor website at www.nsd.org/inglemoor under “Parking Information” on the Students tab starting August 1 for Seniors and August 8 for Juniors and Sophomores. The cost for a parking passes is $125.00 (including tax). To pick up your Parking Tag at the Back-to-School Fair on August 28, the online application must be completed in advance. Students who have yet to obtain their driver’s license may complete the application at any time, but must present their license before the Parking Tag will be issued. ASB Cards/School Yearbooks
- ASB cards are $60
- Yearbooks are $60 if purchased 1st Semester
- -or- $65 if purchased in June of 2018.
- PSAT Testing Fee $13 (grade 9,10, &11)
Payment for ASB Cards and Yearbooks may be made online at https://schoolsales.nsd.org. Payment may also be made with a check made out to IHS (one check is fine) at the Back-to-School Fair or at school. Please save your canceled check(s) and/or receipt(s) as proof of purchase.
Yearbooks will be on sale the following three time periods ONLY: August 28 to September 28, 2017; January 2 to February 2, 2018; and May 21 to June 21, 2018.
Paper copies of Class Schedules will not be handed out this year. Schedules will be available online August 24 through StudentVue at https://studentvue.nsd.org or click on “StudentVue Login” under Quick Links on the Inglemoor home page. Use your regular student user name and password, then click on “Class Schedule” from the menu on the left hand side. You will see your current semester schedule. You MUST attend all classes assigned to you on your schedule.
Information regarding the IHS Schedule Change Policy appears on the Counseling page later in this packet and on the Counseling & Career Center page of the IHS website.
IMPORTANT: Student Drop-off /Pick-up Locations
Due to safety concerns, parents are not allowed to drop off or pick up their students at the main entrance of the school or near the bus loading zone, before or after the school day. Details, including a map of the drop-off/pick-up location are available on the Inglemoor website.

Parent Orientation Night
An orientation for Freshman, Sophomore and New-to-Inglemoor parents is scheduled for Thursday, August 24, beginning at 6:30 pm in the gymnasium. You will receive a postcard shortly with detailed information.
LINK Crew Program & First Day of School
Inglemoor implements the LINK Crew Program to support our Freshmen, Sophmore, and all other New-to-Inglemoor Students in their transition to IHS. The program is designed to have trained Juniors and Seniors work with small groups of New Students guiding them through their first year experience. Throughout the year, activities have been planned to link the groups and guide students in the decision-making process. This program has been successful at other locations throughout the country and has been responsible for keeping students connected to their school in a positive way. The program also empowers Juniors and Seniors as role models, develops leadership skills, teaches students that by working together they can be successful and enjoy one another, and creates a supportive and positive atmosphere on campus. We are looking forward to the continuation of this exciting program.
On the first day of school, Tuesday, September 5, (9:45 – 1:30) all Sophomores, New-to-Inglemoor Students, LINK Leaders, and Staff will participate in a partial day orientation. Pizza Lunch will be provided and backpacks are not necessary. The first full day of school for Freshmen will be the following day, Wednesday, September 6. (Full Day 7:45 – 2:20) The first day of school for all students including Juniors and seniors is scheduled for Thursday , September 7. (Full Day)
School Pictures for ASB/ID Cards
All students will have their ASB/ID card pictures taken at school on Friday, September 8, during their English classes. Students who do not have an English class at Inglemoor (i.e. Running Start students) are to report to the IHS gym between 8:00 am and 12:00 noon on Friday, September 15 for their ID card picture.
All IHS students are required to carry school ID at all times.
Senior pictures for the yearbook were taken in July by Dorian Studios. If you were unable to take your photo at that time, contact Dorian at 1-888-600-8127 to schedule an appointment. Only pictures from Dorian will be used in the yearbook.
Our annual parent Open House will be Thursday, September 28. A general welcome for all parents begins in the gymnasium at 6:30 pm. First period class is scheduled to start at 6:45 pm; time will be provided to visit all of your student’s IHS classes. A detailed invitation will be mailed the early part of September.
High School PSAT Testing
Northshore School district freshmen, sophomores and juniors will have the opportunity to take the PSAT at their high schools in the fall. The PSAT serves as a practice for the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). It can be an indicator of how well students are progressing toward college readiness at this point in their high school career. The PSAT results are sent to the students and parents only. The results are not entered into a student’s permanent record and do not affect a student’s ability to get into college.
The PSAT will be administered at Inglemoor the morning of Wednesday, October 11. Students will be charged a $13.00 test fee to be paid online or at the Back-to-School Fair. To request a fee waiver, please contact your student’s counselor.
Injuries at School – Parent Financial Responsibility
The health and safety of our students is one of the district’s foremost concerns. Even so, accidents may and do happen and the resulting medical bills can be expensive. Many families are unaware that the district does not carry insurance for student personal injury costs and cannot assume responsibility for them. If your child gets hurt during school or a school activity, the parent or guardian is financially responsible for any medical bills. This includes participation in athletics and after school activities. If your student participates in a sport, please make certain your family insurance plan covers athletic participation.
Optional supplemental student insurance: Annually, as a service, we provide information on an optional student accident/health insurance plan. An enrollment form and policy information are available in the Main Office and on the district’s Safety & Security webpage at www.new.nsd.org/Page/1037.
Student Planner/Calendar, Policies and Procedures Guide &
NSD Rights and Responsibilities Handbook
The Student Planner includes bell schedules, campus map, staff list, and calendar/planning pages. It is available to all students. Students may also choose to use an online/digital calendar for planning purposes. The IHS bell schedule and event calendar are always available as a Google Calendar and may be imported as an iCAL subscription at no cost.
The IHS student handbook, includes school Policies & Procedures and is available under the Quick Links section on the Inglemoor homepage; hard copies will also be available in the Main Office.
The School District Rights and Responsibilities Handbook Concerning Student Conduct is available on the Northshore School District website (www.nsd.org); hard copies will also be available in the Main Office. Students and parents/guardians are responsible to read both the IHS Policies and Procedures Guide and the NSD R&R Handbook and abide by the rules and regulations set forth in these documents. Opportunities will be made available for questions and clarification. Both parents/guardians and students must sign and return a commitment document indicating they have received and read both the IHS Policies and Procedures Guide and the NSD R&R Handbook.
New-to-Inglemoor students and their parent/guardian will also need to sign the IHS Dance Contract and Academic Honesty Policy. These documents are due by the end of the second week of school via students’ 3rd period teachers.

Fines and Fees
State of Washington RCW 28A.635.060 allows schools to hold grades, diplomas, caps and gowns, yearbooks, and transcripts of students who deface, destroy, lose, or otherwise injure any school property. If a student has a fine and does not pay the fine by the end of the semester or year, the grades and yearbook shall be held, parking privileges will be denied, and participation in optional activities will not be allowed. Students with outstanding fines/fees will not be eligible to purchase a parking space nor will they be able to participate on school athletic teams. The fines are cumulative and shall be passed on from one school year to the next as well as from one school to another until the fine(s) is/are paid. If students accumulate fines and fees at their junior high, these also transfer to Inglemoor with the student. Seniors with outstanding fines/fees will also have the following restrictions (until the fines/fees are cleared):
- Will not be able to purchase Senior Prom Tickets.
- Will not be able to purchase Senior Breakfast ticket.
- Will not be able to pick up cap and gown.
- Will not be able to buy additional graduation tickets.
- Will not be able to walk at graduation.
- Yearbook will be held.
- Diploma will be held.
- No final transcripts will be sent to colleges.
- No transcripts will be issued for pickup.
Visitor Sign In Procedures
To ensure a safe and secure environment for students and staff, all visitors are required to report to the Main Office to sign in and obtain a visitor’s badge. This badge must be worn during your visit. Please do not expect to meet with a staff member without prior notification; pre-arranged appointments will help ensure the availability of the staff member you need to meet with. Appointments may be made by phone or email.
Inglemoor has a no-student-visitor policy. Please do not send visiting students to Inglemoor with the expectation they may attend classes. Occasionally, special circumstances would allow for a prospective student visit. In such cases, arrangements for the student’s visit would need two (2) weeks prior notice and approval by appropriate staff and the school principal. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated and will ensure that Inglemoor remains a safe learning environment for all.
Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act
Northshore schools will never release student information for commercial purposes, but does release directory information when there is a legitimate educational purpose in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA). You have the right to withhold the disclosure of your student’s information by completing the Permission to Withhold Student Directory Information form and returning it to the school office by October 2. The form is available on the NSD website under the Departments tab; click on Student Services, then Forms for Student Services.
Watch and listen for opportunities to get involved. Our website (www.nsd.org/inglemoor) will help keep you informed of the many Inglemoor activities. We offer an assortment of varied experiences addressing multiple interests. We hope that each of you will consider participating in the variety of programs and activities that are available. A multitude of opportunities exist. We welcome ALL interested volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering with our students, please contact the school so you may be provided with the district’s required volunteer application forms. These forms may be downloaded from the NSD website (www.nsd.org): under the Parents tab, select Volunteer, then Volunteer Forms.
Our PTSA is another great way to get involved with our school community. We encourage you to join PTSA and attend their meetings. Individual memberships are $15 and family memberships (2 individual) are $28.
Also, please feel comfortable attending any and all of our school-sponsored activities (assemblies, concerts, drama productions, sporting events, etc). We strongly encourage parent involvement. You are welcome to participate at any level you desire.
