NOTE: The information on this page is from Summer School 2019. It is anticipated that Summer School 2020 will have similar options, but this information is subject to change for 2020.

Online Health

OLC104: Online Health, grades 9-12
.5 Credit

Students are required to participate in an online meeting with their instructor to receive access to course, date TBD. All coursework will be completed online. Students will receive an email from the teacher with a link to an instructional podcast in June. All coursework must be completed by August 1st. 

Students will learn about nutrition, exercise, substance abuse prevention, managing emotions and stress, handling crisis, heart disease and cancer, human sexuality, HIV/AIDS, and CPR techniques. They will research health issues and discuss national and world concerns.

Life Fitness/PE

PLF200: Life Fitness/PE, grades 9 – 12
.5 Credit
Class Times: Tuesday - Thursday, 8:00 am - 10:30 am
Class starts on Tuesday, July 9th

Students will incorporate the Five Components of Fitness (Cardio-Respiratory Endurance, Muscle Strength, Muscle Endurance, Flexibility) into their personal fitness program and track five fitness hours per week. Personal fitness programs are developed from student’s personal goals and interests, which can include weight and resistance training.

WA State History

SSW145: Washington State History Graduation Requirement, grades 8-12
This course meets the Washington State History requirement for Class of 2017 and beyond.  
Cost waived for all first time students (in person or mail in registration only)
Class Times: Tuesday - Thursday, 8:00 am - 10:30 am 
Class starts on Tuesday, July 9th

This course is for students who have not taken Washington State History. Students taking Washington State History for the first time will be required to complete additional assignments.


SCC170: Chemistry, grades 9-12
1.0 Credit 
Class: Monday - Thursday, 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
Class starts on Wednesday, June 26th. No class on July 4th

This course is a rigorous, hands-on, college prep lab class intended for students who anticipate a possible career in science, technology, or health care. Students choosing this class should be expert in algebra and skilled in scientific thinking and methods. The content of the course will center on the nature of matter and the changes it undergoes at the atomic level. Basic principles will be developed in the laboratory and extended through class discussions, lectures, and readings. Students choosing this class should plan to spend considerable time at home completing course requirements.


ADD105: Drawing / Design, grades 9-12
1.0 Credit 
Class Times: Monday - Thursday, 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
Class starts on Wednesday, June 26th. No class on July 4th.

No experience necessary. This basic course teaches students drawing skills and introduces them to the basic elements and principles of design while using a variety of media including watercolor, pen and ink, charcoal, color pencil and oil pastel. This class will teach students to draw in a step-by-step process. Students will learn how to use perspective, pattern, texture and color to create projects that are fun while improving knowledge of design. These skills are necessary to excel in all other art classes. This is a highly successful program that brings amazing results. Drawing skills are not required, even students with substantial art experience enjoy and benefit from this class.
