What is the Highly Capable Advisory Team?

The K-12 Highly Capable Advisory Team is a district-level team charged with reviewing and providing feedback to the Highly Capable Program. The HiCap Advisory Team advises the department on several topics: 

  • universal screening and assessment processes for eligibility
  • qualification procedures
  • program models
  • professional development
  • instructional best practices
  • representation of underrepresented subgroups

The team’s first meeting of the 2018-19 school year was September 27. Included in the agenda was an overview of the draft plan for the 2018-19 HiCap Eligibility Process, which will soon be presented to Northshore’s district leadership and Board.
