Change of Residency During the School Year

Open Schools to Waivers

In-District: If a family has moved (any time during the school year) but remains in-district, the student must submit an in-district waiver to stay at their current school. In-district waivers are approved for the current level of schooling (ie: elementary, middle or high school level), as long as there are no academic, attendance or discipline issues.

Out of District: If a family moves out-of-district, the family can submit a Choice Transfer request and the student becomes subject to the regular out-of-district waiver process at the time of the move.  The waiver will be approved for the remainder of the school year if there are no concerns with academics, behavior, or attendance.  The family will be required to submit a Choice Transfer request annually. Acceptance is not guaranteed.
