Reporting an Absence
Attendance matters! Regular attendance is one of the most powerful ways you can prepare your student for success—both in school and in life. Students are expected to attend school every day, for the full day.
Absences for illness, religious and cultural observance, or emergency do happen and will be excused. Excused absences should be communicated as soon as reasonably possible. The information below explains the process for reporting these absences.
Long-Term Absences
To report an upcoming absence of 5 days or more, please fill out and submit the Notice of Pre-Arranged Extended Absence Form. Please be aware:
- We encourage you to make sure your child is attending school on a regular basis unless they are sick.
- If your student misses more than 20 consecutive school days, they will be withdrawn from the Northshore School District on the 21st day and will need to be re-enrolled upon return.
