Curriculum Materials Adoption Committee


Northshore School District Curriculum Materials Adoption Committee (CMAC) is responsible for ensuring that the selection of appropriate instructional materials for Northshore School District students is conducted in a professional manner by a deliberative body of teachers, administrators, and parent/community members.

The CMAC is seeking applications to fill two openings for a parent/community member. This is a voluntary position with a term of three years, appointed by the Superintendent.

CMAC members must be committed to meeting applicable state and federal laws and regulations, as well as the stated learning goals and standards of the state and district. Members must be willing to attend all monthly committee meetings, preparing for meetings by reading all documents submitted by sponsor groups. In addition, CMAC members will review materials submitted for consideration, completing reviewer forms within established timelines. The committee makes recommendations for approval of core and supplementary materials to the Northshore School Board, following the process established in School Board Policy 2020.
