Students in Northshore School District Career and College Readiness classes have the opportunity to earn industry certifications. These valuable credentials benefit students as they seek employment, prepare for post secondary education, and build toward a meaningful and productive career. Students can earn certification credentials in the following courses:
Multiple ASE certifications available through successful completion on program. As an ASE-certified training program, opportunities for advanced placement in post-secondary training programs are available.
Multiple NCCER certifications available through successful completion on program. As an NCCER-certified training program, opportunities for advanced placement in post-secondary training programs and apprenticeships are available.
The curriculum used in this course is through King Schools and at the completion of the course, students will have the opportunity to take the FAA Private Pilot ground school exam.
Certificate of Proficiency and Certification through State Nursing Assistant Certification can be earned with completion of this course and passing the state test which is administered at the end of the year.
Microsoft Office Specialist
Students in the MOS program have the opportunity to earn the following MOS certifications:
Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certifications validate core skills in Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, OneNote, and SharePoint Microsoft Office Specialist Expert (MOS Expert) certifications validate advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office Specialist Master (MOS Master) certifications validate overall proficiency and deep expertise of Microsoft Office programs. Requires four exams: Word Expert, Excel Expert, PowerPoint, and either Outlook or Access.
The Washington State Food Workers Permit, ServSafe Certification and National Restaurant Association Certification (must complete 2 years of Culinary Arts) can be obtained at the completion of the Culinary Arts program.
Upon successful completion of the program, students will earn the state S.T.A.R.S. certification required to work in licensed childcare centers.
