Completion of Washington state’s minimum graduation requirements, as established by the State Board of Education (SBE), signifies that a student is prepared for the next steps in life. In 2019, the Legislature approved multiple graduation pathways that provide students with options to demonstrate their readiness for the next step after High School. Students must choose and complete a pathway that aligns with their High School and Beyond Plan and post-High School goals. Students must fulfill the graduation requirements that are in place when they first enter 9th grade. Graduation requirements remain the same for students who need more than four years to graduate. Students who entered 9th grade during the 2016–17 school year and beyond must fulfill the following requirements:

The Northshore School District is proud to partner with Naviance/Family Connection to deliver a comprehensive High School and Beyond Plan curriculum. Naviance/Family Connection is a web-based college and career program that is designed to assess students personalities, learning styles, interests, and strengths, explore careers, college majors, post-secondary opportunities, scholarships, and apply to colleges effectively and efficiently. Naviance/Family Connection also allows the schools counseling offices to submit transcripts, secondary school reports, and communicate effectively to students and parents about college visits, scholarship opportunities, and more. Students and parents access their individual accounts through their schools individual website. Students receive their user names and passwords from the counseling/career center office.   • Researching local scholarship options including information regarding the WSAC College Bound Scholarship
  • Searching and comparing colleges
  • Displaying scatter grams of historical college and admissions data compiled from former NSD students
  • Registering for college visits
  • Requesting official transcripts
  • Requesting letters of recommendation
  • Applying to college using the Common Application
  • Exploring personality types and matching them with career interests
  • Researching careers
  • Creating a resume
