Every Northshore student deserves access to an excellent public education. The EP&O Levy helps make that possible by funding programs, services, and supports that go beyond what the state defines and funds as “basic education.” The levy bridges the gap between state funding and the actual cost of providing the opportunities, resources, and support students need to thrive and reach their full potential.

This levy helps fund staffing above what the state provides, including paraeducators, nurses, counselors, family engagement specialists, IT support and security staff. With the voter-approved 2026 EP&O Levy renewal, the district will be able to increase the number of  teachers in targeted grades, responding to parents’ request for smaller class sizes in 2026-27. 

Voter approval of the 2026 Technology Levy renewal allows us to continue investing in technology that supports student learning and future readiness. Levy funding provides access to digital devices for students when appropriate, classroom technology tools, innovative digital learning solutions, and ongoing training and support for students and staff.

Technology is carefully evaluated and selected to align with instructional goals and student needs. Digital tools are not used for technology's sake but are integrated when they enhance learning, increase access, support collaboration, provide meaningful feedback, or create opportunities that would otherwise be difficult to achieve. These tools complement the expertise of teachers and are used alongside proven instructional practices.

Technology coordinators and instructional leaders partner with teachers to support thoughtful and effective implementation of digital tools as part of their professional learning and instructional goals. This collaborative approach helps ensure that technology remains a purposeful resource that enriches teaching and learning while preparing students with the digital literacy skills needed for future success. 

Voter support of the Capital Bond continues important facility, infrastructure, and safety improvements at schools across Northshore. With Phase 1 funding from the 2022 Capital Bond, the district will open a new building on the Leota Middle School campus in Fall 2026 that includes 30 classrooms and shared learning spaces. This 3-story building will replace the majority of the existing classrooms on campus. With the second and final phase of funding approved by voters in February 2026, the district will focus on replacing the remaining areas of the school, including the library, cafeteria, gym, music rooms, theater, fields, and other outdoor spaces. Phase 2 of this project is currently anticipated to be completed in Winter 2030.

At Inglemoor High School, the steel structure of the Phase 1 replacement project is complete and the building, which will include the commons, kitchen, general classrooms as well science lab classrooms, and a new physical plant with modernized HVAC, is on track for completion in Fall 2027. Phase 2 of the project will be funded by the voter-approved 2026 Capital Bond and is in the initial design stages, which is planned to include the gym, fitness center, theater, and possibly a new classroom wing. Specific details regarding Phase 2 may change as the design process continues.
