May Construction Update: Ruby Bridges Elementary

May Construction Update: Ruby Bridges Elementary
Ramp on Ruby Bridges accessible playground

Ruby Bridges continues to remain on schedule as it moves toward completion. Commissioning, which tests each of the systems in the building to ensure they work properly, is 95% complete. Additionally, final inspections for the school are nearly done, including kitchen equipment, electrical and the HVAC system. The school’s Large On-Site Sewage (LOSS) System is operational as well.

In May, the accessible playground structures were installed. The only outstanding playground items are the installation of the surface tile and striping. Inside the building, the gym floor continues to be laid.

During June, the first set of furniture delivery is expected, as is custodial equipment and food service supplies. The playground’s surface tile and striping is scheduled for completion in June, pending fair weather conditions.

This project was made possible by the generous support of Northshore voters, who approved the 2018 bond.
