Join Us: Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Aug. 31 to Celebrate Leota Phase 1 Replacement

Join us on Monday, August 31 from 1-1:30 p.m. as we celebrate the completion of Phase 1 of the Leota Middle School replacement during Leota Launch Day. The ribbon cutting and open house are open to the community, and we hope you'll celebrate with us!

The celebration begins at 1 p.m. with brief remarks followed by a ceremonial ribbon cutting. Then, stay and explore the new building during the community open house, taking place until 5 p.m. During this time, Leota Launch Day activities will also be taking place for students and families. Students will access their class schedule, find their classrooms, meet teachers, have their school photo taken, etc.

The new three-story building features shared learning spaces and 28 new classrooms that replace the majority of the existing classrooms on campus. On the third floor, there are eight science rooms and one classroom, and on the second floor, there are 13 classrooms. On the first floor, the temporary school main office, counseling office, and health room are located along with 6 classrooms. The building that previously housed the office spaces was torn down during the summer in preparation for the Phase 1 replacement project completion. The permanent main office, counseling office, and health room will be built as part of the Phase 2 replacement project, which was approved by Northshore voters in February 2026. Phase 2 includes the remaining areas on campus including the library, cafeteria, theater, gym, and outdoor spaces.

The Phase 1 replacement project was made possible by the generous support of Northshore voters through the 2022 Capital Bond. We look forward to celebrating this exciting milestone with our students, families, staff, neighbors, and the entire Northshore community.
