Groundbreakings Celebrate Start of Construction at Inglemoor and Leota

Last week, the Inglemoor High School and Leota Middle School communities celebrated the start of construction with groundbreaking celebrations that included past, present, and future Inglemoor Vikings and Leota Lions. These schools are two of the schools receiving significant improvements funded by the 2022 Capital Bond, which was approved by Northshore voters. The bond funded the development of the master plan for the replacement of each school as well as Phase 1 construction.

For Inglemoor High School:

During Phase 1, demolition of the existing 600 and 700 buildings, two small buildings containing lockers, and the planetarium will make room for a new two-story building. The new building will include a commons that can accommodate all Inglemoor students, 20 classrooms – 10 general, 8 science, and 2 science labs – and an outdoor plaza that connects the commons to the track and field.

For Leota Middle School:

Although Phase 1 construction officially began in January 2025 with the demolition of five portables, the building work is now visible as contractors finish the foundation for a new three-story building. The new building will include 36 permanent classrooms and gender-inclusive restrooms to provide greater supervision and increase student safety.

Thank you to all of the students, families, staff, Northshore School Board, and contractors who joined us to celebrate this milestone. Special thank you to BNBuilders, Hutteball + Oremus Architects, Cornerstone General Contractors, Integrus, and all of the consultants and subcontractors who will make this opportunity a reality for our community and who joined us to help prep the dirt for the start of construction. Visit the 2022 Capital Bond page to learn more about this and other projects funded by the 2022 Capital Bond.
