August Construction Update: Elementary #21

Elementary 21 exterior

Elementary #21 made notable progress in August, including full enclosure of the building with the installation of all windows and exterior doors!

Interior work continues including painting in some areas of the building such as the gym and stage. Planning Principal Cathi Davis has been busy working with vendors to select student desks, chairs, office equipment and more.

As for exterior site work, horizontal drilling will conclude soon and then the team will flush, test and sample the water.  The team is also hard at work on the Large On-Site Sewage (LOSS) system with installing mechanical and electrical rough ins.

In early September, roundabout work will commence, with phased road closures as needed for the project. Nearby residents will be notified about any necessary closures.

The District continues to seek input from students, staff, families and community members for the District’s newest elementary school. Name ideas can be submitted through Sept. 27, 2019. A committee will then narrow the selection, ask for additional community input, further narrow choices and then submit a few ideas for board approval.
