April Construction Update: Ruby Bridges Elementary

April Construction Update: Ruby Bridges Elementary
Ruby Bridges entrance

Ruby Bridges Elementary received the certificate of occupancy in April. Prior to receipt of this, all student and staff spaces were approved by the County for occupancy and the team was awaiting approval for the school’s mechanical mezzanine space.

Throughout the month punch list items continued to be ongoing, including finishing up paint touch ups on the school’s fully accessible playground.

A couple modifications are in process at the school. The hydraulic lift that will be installed at the school’s loading dock to ease deliveries will be installed in the coming months. Prior to installation, the concrete pad where the lift will be installed needs to be leveled. Structural engineers are in the process of reviewing the design modifications. The team is also planning to replace the gravel on the southwest side of the building with a hard surface to increase access in case of emergency.

This project was made possible by the generous support of Northshore voters, who approved the 2018 bond.
