School Board Director Kelly Resignation

School Board Director Kelly Resignation

June 22, 2026

Dear Northshore Community,

I am writing to share that I am resigning from my role as a Northshore School District Board Director, effective June 30, because I will no longer meet the District 5 residency requirement.

Serving Northshore students, families, educators, and community members has been one of the greatest honors of my life. Our community has shaped me as an educator and as a person, and I remain deeply committed to public education and student success.

Since joining the Board, I have listened closely to our community, stayed grounded in our schools, and advocated for all learners. I am grateful for the trust our community placed in me and for the opportunity to serve alongside our dedicated educators, staff, and fellow Board Directors.

Like many families in our region, we have been navigating housing affordability challenges. My family is relocating within the Northshore School District but outside the boundaries of District 5. Although this change means I can no longer serve on the Board, I am grateful that we will remain part of the Northshore community.

My commitment to Northshore remains unchanged. I will continue to champion our students, support our educators, and advocate for the strong public schools that make our community so special.

The School Board will begin a process to appoint a replacement to serve the remainder of my term. The position will then be open to voters during the next election cycle. If you have questions about the appointment process for my vacated seat, please contact the Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent and Board of Directors, Peggy King, at pking2@nsd.org. Additional information will be shared with the community in the coming weeks.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve this extraordinary community. It has been a privilege to work alongside Northshore students, families, educators, and staff across the district, and I look forward to continuing to support Northshore in new and different ways.

Kimberlee Kelly

School Board Director, District 5
