The school year is underway, and as part of the School Board’s work, the budget development process for the 2025-26 school year has begun. While this process is only one of many important efforts designed to support our students and schools, we know the budget is of particular interest to many community members. As we have done for the last couple years, we have a multi-step budget development process that you are invited to participate in order to learn more and engage in a community conversation about next steps.
Like many other Washington state school districts impacted by demographic changes and funding shortfalls, Northshore is anticipating another budget deficit for the 2025-26 school year. As of October 30, the current expected shortfall for Northshore is $6 million. This general fund reduction is in addition to $46 million dollars of cuts over the past two years. To learn more visit the 2025-26 Budget Development webpage.
