The design for the Maywood Hills Elementary modernization project has significantly matured over the last three months. All necessary permit applications have been submitted, and approval from the jurisdiction is pending to begin construction in the summer of 2024. The project team is working on finalizing the project design details and prepare for construction activity starting right after the last day of school.
Updated renderings are now available on the project website for viewing. Please note that these may change before construction begins, but they represent the most recent draft of the project design to provide an early look at what is to come.
Spring Break Tree Removal: During Spring Break, the Austrian pine trees along the northern border of our property, adjacent to the parking lot, were removed. This proactive step was taken due to their scheduled removal as part of the modernization project and a concerning trend of deterioration over the past few years. Our maintenance team has been closely monitoring their health, with a focus on safety. While these trees added to the landscape, their declining health became a concern.
What to expect in the next few months:
- SAVE THE DATE: A community meeting will be held on June 11 from 6-8 p.m. at the Maywood Hills Elementary Gym. This meeting will provide the latest design updates and discuss how construction activity will be managed on campus.
