After school ends in June, the current playground at Hollywood Hill will be removed to make space for a new, fully inclusive playground. This project is funded by the 2022 Capital Bond, which was generously approved by Northshore voters.
The new installation will have ground-level play activities, ramps, and other features that are available to each and every student to experience. Although the design is not finalized, it is expected to include a large play structure, bridges, slides, climbing structures, spinners, swings, and more. See below images for draft designs of the new structures. Planning began this school year, and last week, students had the opportunity to provide feedback on types of features they would like to see included (see images below of this feedback being collected). This information is being considered as the playground design is finalized.
We expect the installation will take all summer and possibly into the start of next school year. While we hope it will be complete prior to the beginning of the 2024-25 school year, we are developing plans for alternative playground activities, as construction timelines can be delayed due to a number of factors. Please be aware that the area will be fenced off and unavailable during the summer months. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to having a safe and accessible playground in the near future.
