Program Bus Information

Welcome to Northshore Transportation

Our program buses were previously called Special Ed Buses. However, as we use any NSD Buses to transportation students regardless of their classroom placement, it was time for a new name. Our program buses can transport 12-20 students and will typically service the entire district based on each student program and school placement.

Program Bus

Each year Northshore School District transports thousands of students utilizing several transportation options.

  • Authorized School Bus
  • Authorized School District Car/Van
  • Authorized 3rd Party Company
  • Local City or Metro Bus
  • In Lieu of Contract or Mileage Reimbursement

Program bus transportation is designed to meet the unique transportation needs of each student while enhancing the students' overall learning experience. Transportation accommodations are outlined in the student's individual education plan (IEP) or 504 plan. If you are requesting transportation services on a smaller, program bus for the 1st time, new to the special education program, or just have general questions regarding transportation services, please contact your student's special education team or case manager directly.

To assure your child’s safety and well-being please review the parent responsibility and complete the special education transportation and emergency form. This form is required for all students participating in the special ed program, riding a program bus. A new form is required each year.
