Special Education Transportation

Each year Northshore School District transports thousands of students utilizing several transportation options. 

  • Authorized School Bus
  • Authorized School District Car/Van
  • Authorized 3rd Party Company
  • Local City or Metro Bus
  • In Lieu of Contract or Mileage Reimbursement

Special education transportation is designed to meet the unique transportation needs of each student while enhancing the students' overall learning experience. Transportation accommodations are outlined in the student's individual education plan (IEP) or 504 plan. If you are requesting special transportation services for the 1st time, new to the special education program, or just have general questions regarding transportation services, please contact your student's special education team directly.

To assure your child’s safety and well-being please review the parent responsibility and complete the special education transportation and emergency form. This form is required for all students utilizing special education buses and a new form is required each year.

Once we receive both the staff request and the parent request, securing a driver will take a minimum of 3 days to complete.

The information you provide will be kept in the strictest confidence. You have the option to complete the online form or both sides of the printed version of this form. Both forms can be found under the transportation forms tab. For the Printed version please return to the following: attention Transportation Department at 3330 Monte Villa Parkway Bothell, WA 98021 or scan and email to transportation@nsd.org. If any of your information changes after your form has been turned in, please resubmit a new form as soon as possible.

Special Education Transportation Information

Please ensure your student's designated school has the correct phone number on file, the voice mail box is set up, and there is space to leave a detailed message with bus information.  If you have not received a phone call with your student's bus information, please utilize e-link prior to contacting transportation.
