If you are the birthing parent, and you are taking a medical leave prior to the baby’s due date, you are required to submit an Employee Health Care Provider Certification.
A leave of absence without pay shall be granted under the following provisions:
Purposes:
Attending a recognized college or university
Physical and/or psychological recuperation
Travel
Other valid experience
Not granted for other employment.
Eligibility:
The employee shall have three or more years of experience in the District.
Deadline:
Application should be submitted to Human Resources by May 1 of the preceding year.
Duration:
Up to one school year.
Second school year could be granted to complete a teacher certification program at a regionally accredited university with whom the District has a partnership agreement.
