I am providing an update on the health concerns at Frank Love since a staff member who was at work last week, was tested on Sunday for the COVID-19 coronavirus. When I learned of the test on Sunday evening, I felt it was prudent to have the school closed and disinfected on Monday while we awaited the test results. Unfortunately, we have just confirmed that we will not have the results today. Therefore, Frank Love Elementary will be closed again on Wednesday, March 4.
I understand this decision may cause a hardship for some of you. Keeping in mind that the health and safety of our students is a priority, I am convinced that this is the best decision in this rapidly changing situation.
Please understand that our staff across the District are doing the best we can for every student. Should you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, please complete this form. We have staff members dedicated to answering your questions and they will respond to you as quickly as possible.
As decisions are being made on a day-to-day basis, we are working to make sure the education continues by preparing to transition the teaching and learning to online platforms for as long as needed. We understand some families need a computing device or internet access at home. If you are in this situation, I am asking you to complete this form and we will arrange to loan your student a computing device and if necessary an accompanying internet hot spot.
Later this evening, I will be sending out additional districtwide information, but wanted to get you the notice of the Frank Love closure as soon as possible (while still waiting as long as possible to receive the test results).
Thank you for your understanding and grace. We will get through this; together, all things are possible.
Michelle Reid, Ed.D.
