Inclement Weather during COVID-19
In the event of inclement weather, if buildings will not be safe for instructional staff use, we must inform students and staff of building closures so they can make other arrangements.
- On days with expected inclement weather, the District will follow the usual process to assess road conditions.
- The decision to close or delay will be made by the Superintendent as early as possible, usually by 5:30 am.
- The decision to close will be communicated to families whose students are in-person at the time of a closure as well as to all staff.
Announcements will be as follows:
- No Closure Announcement
- In-person programs proceed normally per the Stage.
- Distance learning proceeds as normal.
- Instructional staff may access buildings.
- Food delivery and book delivery as scheduled.
- Day Care sites open as normal.
- In-Person Closure Announcement
- In-person programs revert to distance learning.
- No out of district transportation.
- No testing.
- Distance learning proceeds as normal.
- Instructional staff may access buildings with proper caution.
- Food delivery as scheduled.
- Book delivery cancelled.
- Day Care sites open two hours late.
- Closed
- In-person programs revert to distance learning.
- Distance learning proceeds as normal.
- Buildings are closed to instructional staff.
- Support Services staff may be required to come to buildings.
- Food delivery and book delivery are cancelled.
- Alternatives will be explored with Food Services (multi day packs before expected inclement weather, Northshore Eats, etc.)
- Day Care sites closed.
Teachers and other staff who are accessing buildings should be prepared for a possible closure due to inclement weather, and ensure they have appropriate materials available at home work sites.
