Elementary NVP Update: 2022-2023 Planning Questionnaire, Spring Break and More

Northshore Virtual Program 2022-2023 School Year Planning

We are excited to share that we have started planning for the Northshore Virtual Program for the 2022-2023 school year.  As part of this planning process, we need to know if our current virtual families have an interest in continuing in a virtual program next school year. Please fill out the short questionnaire to support our planningThe questionnaire is not a formal registration or enrollment form, the purpose is to survey interestPlease note, elementary students will follow a brand new program model next year using the Alternative Learning Experience (ALE). This will result in a less structured daily schedule with decreased synchronous learning opportunities. Secondary students will have a similar experience to the 2021-2022 school year model with mentor teachers supporting students while using Edgenuity teachers.

Reminder: Required Spring State Testing

Spring is the time of year when schools administer state required assessments.  These assessments are used for state and federal accountability, to monitor student progress toward grade level standards, as well as an option for high school students to meet their Graduation Pathways requirement. The English/Language Arts (ELA) and Math Smarter Balanced Assessments are administered in grades 3 through 8 and 10, while the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS) is administered in grades 5, 8, and 11.

Please view the NVP spring testing schedule here.

OSPI requires that the SBA is administered in-person. We will be offering in-person testing opportunities at our Northshore Virtual Program office located within Innovation Lab High School (2020 224th St SE, Bothell, WA 98021). We will follow COVID-19 safety protocols including physical distancing to the extent possible and optional masking. If you do not feel safe having your student participate in in-person testing, please email nvp@nsd.org or call 425-408-6117.

Students need to bring their district-issued device. If your student does not have a district-issued device, we will have extras available.

We encourage students to get good sleep and nutrition during these times. For students participating in full day testing, please pack a lunch, snack and water for your student. We will have breaks and lunch during testing. For students participating in half-day testing, please pack a snack and water for your student.

If you have any questions, please email nvp@nsd.org or call 425-408-6117.
