Update: Voters approving Levy Renewals and Capital Projects Bond

As election results continue to be updated since Election Day on Tuesday, the support for the Northshore School District’s ballot measures has grown. As of 4 p.m. on Feb. 13, it appears the Educational Programs & Operations Levy renewal, Capital Projects Bond, and Technology Levy renewal are all passing. The bond, which needs 60% approval to pass, currently has 61.72% of the vote. The levies, which each require 50% plus one vote to pass, currently have 63.13% approval for the EP&O Levy and 62.04% approval for the Tech Levy. The results will be officially certified on Feb. 20.

Renewed funding from these levies means we can maintain the educational programs and day-to-day operations that our families value as part of a strong school experience along with maintaining our investment in learning technology and infrastructure.

The bond will allow the district to make safety, seismic, and accessibility improvements, add inclusive playgrounds, and address four major projects with the most needs at Inglemoor High School, Leota Middle School, Shelton View Elementary, and Kokanee Elementary.

“Thank you to our voters for your support of our students, staff, families, and community,” said Dr. Justin Irish, Northshore School District Superintendent. “We deeply value the confidence you have placed in the Northshore School District and are dedicated to managing these funds responsibly, transparently, and always in the best interest of our students.”

“On behalf of the Northshore School Board, thank you to our community for your continued support of our schools,” said School Board President Sandy Hayes. “This funding truly makes a difference in our students’ learning. We are so thankful for your partnership in ensuring every student can develop the skills necessary for their future lives, has access to safe, inclusive learning environments, and can participate in programs that help them thrive.”

Election results will continue to be updated by King County and Snohomish County in the coming days.
