Congratulations to the more than 620 Northshore School District marketing education students who participated in the Area 3 Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) competition on Jan. 10. Students from Bothell, Inglemoor, North Creek and Woodinville high schools competed with 1,500 students from the King County region in individual events, role plays and team competitions. Through their strong performances, 228 Northshore students qualified for Washington DECA’s State Career Development Conference, which will be held locally in March. At this upcoming conference, students will have an opportunity to qualify for DECA’s prestigious International Career Development Conference, scheduled for late April in Nashville, Tennessee.
DECA is an association of marketing students focused on preparing emerging leaders for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality management and entrepreneurship. There are more than 215,000 high school DECA members from 3,500 schools throughout the world.
