May Construction Update: Northshore Concert Hall at Inglemoor

May Construction Update: Northshore Concert Hall at Inglemoor
Exterior of the Northshore Concert Hall

The Northshore Concert Hall at Inglemoor High School continues to make notable progress. This month the framing for the large glassy entrance was installed, along with precast stairs for circulation between floors and for the grand staircase outside of the building’s entrance. The theater floor was also installed.

While interior painting is typically one of the last items for a project, the Concert Hall’s design and tall ceilings require interior paint to be completed earlier so that the scaffolding can be removed. Once the scaffolding is removed, the team will install the dropped ceiling with acoustic baffles designed to reduce noise reverberation throughout the space. This is typical of a concert hall where echos would distract from performances. A similar system will be added to the walls to increase the sound quality of the space for performances. All paint inside the theater is expected to be completed by the end of the month, with acoustic treatments to follow.

In June, electrical finishes will be completed so that remaining sheetrock can be installed in the classroom additions. Installation of the siding on the front of the building, which began in May, will continue and is expected to be completed by late June or early July.

This project was made possible by the generous support of Northshore voters, who approved the 2018 bond.
