Many Opportunities to Volunteer: Consider Joining an Advisory Committee or Task Force

The Northshore School District invites our community to get involved in supporting our schools and students in a number of different ways. One way is to participate in a districtwide advisory committee or task force, and there are now several accepting applications to fill vacant roles. If you have a passion for supporting students and schools across the entire district, we invite you to apply for any of the below opportunities.

The following volunteer opportunities are currently accepting applications:

• Middle School Advisory Committee – applications due Sept. 18
• Racial and Educational Justice Committee – applications due Sept. 18
• K-12 Mathematics Task Force – applications due Sept. 25
• Financial Advisory Committee – applications due Sept. 30

Whether you have an hour or want to get involved regularly, there are many ways to make a difference in our schools and district.

Middle School Advisory Committee:

The Middle School Advisory Committee provides a voice in district planning and decision-making, guiding how we improve the middle school experience for each student, from curriculum and instruction to school culture and community. The Advisory seeks interested secondary students, families, and community members. Learn more about the Middle School Advisory Committee and apply by Sept. 18. 

Racial and Educational Justice Committee:

The Racial and Educational Justice Committee serves as an advisory to the Racial and Educational Justice Department and advocates for our community at large. The committee’s aim is to provide support, guidance, and information to fuel equitable practices in the district overall. K-12 Mathematics Task Force:

The K-12 Mathematics Task Force will study and make recommendations about the  full K-12 mathematics trajectory, with particular attention to student placement practices, intervention and enrichment supports, communication with families, and the transition from elementary mathematics through high school and postsecondary readiness. This task force is seeking secondary students, families, staff, and community members to serve during the 2026-27 school year. Financial Advisory Committee:

The Financial Advisory Committee analyzes and studies a variety of data and available information to help understand the district's budget, as well as state and federal budget parameters. The committee also provides feedback and recommendations on budget-related issues. Learn more about the Financial Advisory Committee and apply by Sept. 30.
