Most Northshore Schools Open Tomorrow, Fri Nov. 22

Our District’s Support Services staff have been working closely with Snohomish Public Utilities and Puget Sound Energy to resolve widespread power outages across many of our schools. We are pleased to share that thanks to the hard work of our Public Utility Partners and many others, significant progress has been made. However, there are some schools that are still without power and will remain closed tomorrow, Friday November 22.  

The following schools will remain CLOSED tomorrow, Friday, November 22:

    • East Ridge Elementary
    • Hollywood Hill Elementary
    • Sunrise Elementary
    • Westhill Elementary
  • Middle Schools
    • Timbercrest Middle School 
  • Other Schools and Programs
    • Sorenson Early Childhood Center (Pre-K) 
    • Northshore Learning Options (Bear Creek Campus) 

Before and after-school activities, athletics, public events, elementary parent-teacher conferences, and childcare are also canceled for the CLOSED school sites and through the weekend. Elementary parent-teacher conferences scheduled for Nov. 21 and Nov. 22 will be rescheduled.

Monitoring Conditions

The National Weather Service is predicting another storm this evening with potential strong winds and heavy rain though 10 a.m. tomorrow morning. Our Support Services team will continue to monitor conditions overnight, including power outages, and will communicate any school schedule changes tomorrow morning directly to affected families and staff. If there is no communication, please follow the school schedule listed above. 

Community Resources

We recognize that many Northshore families and staff have been without power for multiple days. Below are resources and options for any individual who needs access to temporary warming centers or device charging stations. 

  • Woodinville City Hall: The Woodinville City Hall is open to the public to warm up and recharge essential devices. The temporary shelter will open at 8 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 22 and close at 4 p.m. 
  • Kenmore City Hall will be open to the public on Nov.  22 during regular business hours, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. for community members to charge their medical devices, cell phones, and other electronics. Seating and power strips will be available in the community room. Please bring your own charging bricks. Please also note that medical devices will have charging priority.
  • Bothell’s Fire Station 42 in downtown Bothell will be open Friday, Nov. 22, from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. for community members to charge their medical devices, cell phones, and other electronics. Medical devices will be given priority. Staff ask that visitors bring their own chargers and cords.
  • All Sno-Isle Libraries are open regular hours.
  • Additional community locations available for charging and warming.
