Kenmore Elementary Partners with Boeing on After-School Academy

Kenmore Elementary School combined efforts with Boeing to bring a STEM after-school academy to elementary students this past month. Teacher Trulie Honegger applied and was accepted for a special program through Washington Alliance for Better Schools (WABS).

The focus of the program was for fourth- and fifth-grade students to engage in problem solving, planning, and engineering. With the support of Boeing volunteers and Science Olympiad students from Bothell High School, Kenmore Cubs engaged in after-school learning for four weeks. The end results were students simulating a rocket launch and completing tasks with their rovers on different planets. A special thank you to the Bothell Cougars who served as role models and engaged students in conversations about science.
