On Nov. 16, the Japanese clubs from Bothell, Inglemoor, North Creek and Woodinville hosted their second annual Japanese Culture Festival at Woodinville High School.

Students and teachers collaborated to develop this special event to entertain and educate the community about Japanese traditions, music, food and more. Students also created festival-style booths to teach visitors about yo-yo fishing, origami, calligraphy and kimono.

Community members volunteered their time to demonstrate many Japanese traditions. Karate and Jōdō martial arts were showcased and music lovers were treated to taiko and koto performances. A wide variety of foods were available like onigiri (rice wrapped in seaweed and filled with different ingredients), mochi (rice cake), and miso soup.

Thank you to the 400+ attendees for coming to this year's festival! Due to the great response, the Japanese clubs have already begun planning next year's Japanese Culture Festival that will be hosted at North Creek High School!
