Tom Petersen is the new Emergency Prep Coordinator, succeeding Clark Combs, who retired after four years in that position. Tom taught Social Studies and English at Kenmore Middle School and was a Summer School Principal. He has decades of experience at the school and district levels on E-Prep and Safety matters. He is looking forward to working with teachers, building administration, and PTSAs maintaining staff and family emergency response plans and skills, and assisting the Northshore Safety and Security team.

The E-Prep Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) helps to ensure that all schools maintain compliance in the area of emergency planning and preparation. In this role as the E-Prep TOSA, Tom monitors state-mandated drills and builds partnerships between District staff and the Northshore community. It has been a great benefit to have an experienced teacher on the Safety and Security team to help in guiding procedures that may impact the educational experience to find a best practice.
