Four North Creek Students Earn Advanced Placement Capstone Diplomas

Congratulations to four North Creek students who earned Advanced Placement (AP) Capstone diplomas. These are the first students from North Creek High School to have earned this honor, as the program was started at the school two years ago.

  • Anthony Nguyen scored a 3 or better on 11 AP exams
  • Dylan Bunarto scored a 3 or better on 9 AP exams
  • Jeffrey Hablewitz scored a 3 or better on 7 AP exams
  • Micah Lim scored a 3 or better on 7 AP exams

Students who seek to earn the AP Capstone Diploma must take both the AP Seminar and AP Research courses, as well as score a three or higher in both AP Seminar and AP Research and on four additional AP Exams of their choosing. This means the students who are eligible for the AP Capstone Diploma have earned a score of three or better on at least six AP exams throughout high school.

North Creek High School is one of approximately 1,800 schools worldwide to implement the AP Capstone Diploma program – an innovative program that allows students to develop the skills that matter most for college success, such as research, collaboration, and communication.

"I'm extremely proud of the efforts these students put in to earn this distinction,” said North Creek Principal Eric McDowell, Ed. D. “I’m equally proud of Rhonda McGee, their Seminar and Research teacher, who provided guidance and shepherded them through the process of the AP Capstone program.”
