Celebrating School Psychologists Week

We celebrate National School Psychologist Week from Nov. 7-11, 2022. The Northshore School District is thankful for such a professional, passionate, and student-focused group of people. Our School Psychologists go above and beyond every day in order to help school teams and families meet the needs of students. While the week is a time to celebrate all the ways our School Psychologists bring value to the District, we know that without their work all year, it would be difficult to ensure our students' needs are identified and then served ongoing.

Learn More About the Role of School Psychologists

The broad role of the school psychologist includes student-centered services in mental health, family and community collaboration, comprehensive evaluations, multifaceted consultation, and building-level teaming.

From the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP): School Psychologists are uniquely qualified members of school teams that support students' ability to learn and teachers' ability to teach. They apply expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior, to help children and youth succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally. School Psychologists partner with families, teachers, school administrators, and other professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments that strengthen connections between home, school, and the community.
