Congratulations to Bothell High School's Jazz Ensemble 1, which was chosen as a finalist in the annual Essentially Ellington High School Jazz Band Competition & Festival at Jazz at Lincoln Center! The Essentially Ellington program is highly competitive, and Jazz 1 at Bothell has now been invited to participate five consecutive years – a truly remarkable accomplishment!
Essentially Ellington aims to elevate musicianship, broaden perspectives and inspire performance for high school jazz bands nationwide. This year, 20 finalist bands will compete for top honors at the competition and festival. Bothell High Jazz 1 will travel to New York City in late April to be immersed in workshops, jam sessions, rehearsals and performances at the “House of Swing,” Frederick P. Rose Hall, home of Jazz at Lincoln Center. Congratulations to the Cougars for this honor.
