August Construction Update: Northshore Concert Hall at Inglemoor

The interior of the Northshore Concert Hall located at Inglemoor High School continues to transform. Throughout August the drywall was completed in the concert hall and instructional spaces. Painting is nearly finished and furniture is being ordered. The mechanical systems have been installed and will be tested for several months to ensure they work as expected. The detailed work inside remains, which will elevate the space to a world class concert hall. These include the installation of the selected wall paneling, casework, cabinetry, doors and more.

The exterior of the building and site is also progressing. The metal siding is complete and the windows for the two-story glassy front entrance are in the process of being installed. The tennis courts are paved and the surfacing is being completed this week.

A portion of this project focused on improving parking circulation. Staff, students and families will benefit from some of these changes at the start of school. The campus’ upper parking lot will now be parent drop off and student parking. Staff and buses will use the parking lot to the north of Viking Lane. With these changes, there is now triple the amount of space on campus for the parent drop off line, which will alleviate traffic at the school’s entrance and on Simonds Road NE. The project team has worked closely with the school’s administration to maximize the parking available, while still having active construction on site.

This project was made possible by the generous support of Northshore voters, who approved the 2018 bond.
