Our Class of 2026 graduates have accomplished so much during their time here in Northshore.
They have grown as learners, athletes, leaders, volunteers, and engaged members of their school communities and beyond. What was your favorite class in school and why?
My favorite class throughout high school was ceramics. It was a class that I always looked forward to attending. When life became stressful and overwhelming, I knew I was able to go to art to handle difficult emotions and stress. It was a great outlet and always sparked new friendships with people I wouldn't normally meet.
What extracurricular activities did you participate in?
I participated in fastpitch softball for Bothell HS and a select program throughout my high school career. As a team captain for the Varsity Fastpitch softball team my junior year, I worked on motivating and creating a positive environment where everyone felt valued and appreciated. I monitored the progress of team objectives while identifying potential issues. These experiences really helped me develope my skills for working with a team and to be disciplined. I have had the privilege of making memories and celebrating successes as well as learning and growing from mistakes.
I have also been a member of ASB for 3 years and have held the positions of Junior Class President and ASB President. I have loved representing the students of Bothell High School and being able to execute fun and safe activities to escape from the normal school grind. I made sure to recognize student leaders in all clubs, activities, and classes across campus. I achieved this by shouting out students during announcements, including them in assemblies, and attending their events. My goal has always been to make Bothell High School a place where everyone is welcomed and excited to come to every day.
I was a member of LINK Crew during my junior and senior years. As a LINK leader, I focused on making the transition for new freshmen into high school as smooth and supported as possible. I assisted in team-building activities, demonstrating leadership skills, and sharing insights and advice based on personal high school experiences.
What advice would you give to younger students?
I would tell younger students to just enjoy it. It is such a fun, complex, and evolutionary time in your life. You will have experiences that will challenge you and may make you wish that you could just fast forward, but those will form you into the person you were always meant to be. It goes by so much faster than you expect, so spend the time that you have making the most of every opportunity.
What are your plans after graduation?
I will be attending the University of Washington this fall and majoring in Construction Management.
Please share with us the name of a person in your life who stands out as having supported you along the way to high school graduation. What is your relationship to them? (This could be a parent/guardian, teacher, counselor, coach, mentor, community member, etc.)
One staff member who has been extremely influential to my high school experience is Mrs. Allison, the Bothell High School Main Office Secretary. Mrs. Allison is the embodiment of everything that Bothell High School represents. She believes in the people around her, leads through influence, engages with the community, and unites the entire school. She is there for all students every single day, whether you want to talk, need a snack, or have a question that you want answered. She also writes the morning announcements every day, which helps to advertise and bring recognition to amazing activities and students around campus. She is constantly going out of her way to assist and be there for others. Whenever I am having a rough day, I know I can stop by the office and see her warm and welcoming smile. I appreciate her sacrifice and commitment to the Bothell community; she is truly irreplaceable.

What was your favorite class in school and why?
I will always remember my IB Global Politics class with Mr. McQueen because it reinvigorated my passion for learning when I needed it most. I'll forever remember how Mr. McQueen's wry, probing questions challenged me to welcome criticism and taught me to deepen my reasoning in a collaborative discussion. Instead of simply being correct, I found the greater value in our discourse because it forced me to embrace resilience and reconsider my work.
What extracurricular activities did you participate in?
I'm very glad that I never tied myself to one path in high school: I was a page for multiple Senators, education and public safety advocate, volunteer firefighter, National Park Service intern, and journalist. Alongside an amalgamation of jobs and pre-professional business clubs, I'm glad to have explored so many facets of life through my extracurriculars.
What advice would you give to younger students?
Don't just think about your goals–live like the person you want to be. You can and should excel in hard things while living a balanced life. While your trajectory in high school determines your immediate next step, it doesn't limit you to any pathway. You're only a teenager once–have fun!
What are your plans after graduation?
I have accepted a full-ride Stamps scholarship at the University of South Carolina to pursue majors in Finance and International Business.

My parents, Jessica Lee and Daniel Lee.
What did that person do or say that made a difference and what impact did they have on you?
My mother has supported my education tirelessly. Whether helping me discover new opportunities or coaching me through mock interviews, my mom has never ceased to prioritize my education and growth. Unwavering and empathetic, my dad has helped me stay grounded and disciplined despite countless all-nighters and grueling exam seasons. I owe many of my positive traits to his kind guidance. It goes without saying that I would not be the person I am today without both of my parents. I am blessed to receive the immense love and care they have poured into me. Now, I hope to return these efforts to the world around me.

What was your favorite class in school and why?
Medical Interventions was my favorite class in school because it introduced me to biochemistry and the technologies used to help treat people of various conditions they suffered under. The class stimulated my, now profound, interest in genetic engineering and medical devices on the nanoscale.
What extracurricular activities did you participate in?
I did not participate in any extracurricular activities, as I spent most of middle school and high school helping to care for my younger brother while both of my parents worked.
What advice would you give to younger students?
Develop your time management skills and strengthen your division between your personal life and your school life. Give the best you can in school, of course, but don’t let the stressors of school follow you home. Your teachers are people as well, treat them as such.
What are your plans after graduation?
My plans after graduation are to attend Western Washington University, majoring in Astrophysics and Biochemistry, and to one day become an astronaut. The plan to become an astronaut is one that I’ve held all my life and can’t let go of.

Carlos Lazo, my Spanish teacher and mentor.
What did that person do or say that made a difference and what impact did they have on you?
He helped to solidify my heart in advocacy, provided me with mentoring during lunch, and looked out for my condition. He helped to shape me into the sincere man I am now.

What was your favorite class in school and why?
My favorite class in school was Law and Society because I learned a lot of important life lessons, such as how to collaborate with others and how to respectfully engage in both challenging and meaningful conversations with my peers. I really enjoyed hearing from some remarkable guest speakers and participating in a mock trial.
What extracurricular activities did you participate in?
I participated in several sports, including fastpitch softball, volleyball, and slowpitch softball. Sports have always been a tremendous part of my life and have given me so much, including life-long friends and memories I will always cherish. Over the years, playing sports has grown my confidence and helped shape who I am today.
What advice would you give to younger students?
My advice to younger students is to get involved as much as you can because that's what makes school fun. Don't be afraid to put yourself out there and try new things because you might find something you really love. Life is hard, so be kind to others and to yourself.
What are your plans after graduation?
After graduation, I will continue my athletic and academic career at Western Washington University. I will play Division II softball and pursue a degree in biology.

What did that person do or say that made a difference and what impact did they have on you?
As I chased my dream of playing collegiate softball, my parents made countless sacrifices to support that dream. Balancing school with my competitive lifestyle could be extremely challenging at times, and they always met me with compassion and encouragement. Whenever I struggled physically, mentally, or emotionally, my parents were always there to pick me up. They taught me the importance of hard work and determination. More importantly, they reminded me that my achievements or my failures don't determine my worth. I am so grateful for all they've done for me and am inspired to keep dreaming big.

My plan is to go to community college, then transfer to Florida State.

What did that person do or say that made a difference and what impact did they have on you?
They have just really helped me become a much better student, they always listen and help when I need it. They also push me past my limits which I like.

What was your favorite class in school and why?
Forensics because it’s like solving a real life puzzle, it combines science and detective work which I find really fascinating!
What extracurricular activities did you participate in and why?
Outside of school every winter season I go snowboarding and in the summer I go hiking and participate in water sports like paddle boarding and swimming. I also try to volunteer as much as I can whether it be at a animal shelter or a soup kitchen. I think it’s really important to stay active as well as serve the community that’s why I love to do the things I do!
What advice would you give to younger students?
Interact and collaborate with as many people as you can

Attend college in the fall then go onto wildland firefighting

Heather Joy Boi, she has been my high school counselor since my freshman year and she has been a major help in getting me to where I am now. I would go to her whenever I had a hard time and didn’t know what to do outside of school or with my academics.
What did that person do or say that made a difference and what impact did they have on you?
In the beginning of my junior year I went through a rough patch and wanted to switch to online but HealtherJoy told me that she believed that staying in person and continuing to socialize with people would be much better for me and so I decided to stay and it was the best decision I could have made. SAS has really allowed me to grow as a person being able to be around so many great teachers and peers and let me become quite the extrovert!

What was your favorite class in school and why?
My favorite class has been the Medical Professionals Academy course I took this year. This was a 3-period long class at Woodinville High School and we worked with both skills and theory in preparation to earn our Basic Life Support, Nursing Assistant, and Patient Care Technician certifications. I enjoyed starting my day with this class and was thoroughly intrigued during the Hospital Clinicals we participated in at Evergreen Hospital and Harborview Medical Center. The 20 of us grew incredibly close and developed a tight-knit bond which was vital in our team-oriented environment. Learning new medical terminology and skills can be challenging but my class alongside our amazing instructors helped each other out the whole year.
What extracurricular activities did you participate in and why?
I was able to serve as Co-President of National Honor Society this year which resulted after commitment to serving my community throughout my high school years. These involvements included volunteering at Woodinville Storehouse Food Bank twice a month, serving as a dining room server at summer camps, and coaching youth camps. As Co-President, I enjoyed being able to facilitate large-impact community service events through mobilizing our 300+ member chapter. Additionally, serving as Co-President in Women of Influence, a female-led Woodinville High School organization, taught me the importance of connecting young high school girls with successful females in the workplace. Our End-of-Year conference was a success with 7 speakers from a variety of fields including business, medical, and journalism and it was a joy to see the impact on our ~60 high school attendees. Some other notable school involvements that have been impactful to me include FBLA, DECA, Volleyball, and Flag Football. Outside of school I have worked as both a Lifeguard and a Dining Room Server at a senior home, both jobs that have taught me the importance of discipline and emphasized teamwork through interacting with my coworkers and residents.
What advice would you give to younger students?
Inspiration is beneficial but not to get mistaken with comparison. When I was younger, I would look up to other high schoolers who were in the involvements I wanted to participate in and used that to shape my path. While that was important inspiration, it is important to differentiate yourself from them and make sure to turn that involvement into your own. No two people will ever be identical in their work and achievements, so use the support around you but learn to specialize your impact in the unique way that only you can do.
What are your plans after graduation?
I am attending the University of Washington in Seattle where I will be majoring in Neuroscience. After I earn my undergraduate degree, I plan to attend Medical School.

My high school Volleyball coach, Coach Moffitt.
What did that person do or say that made a difference and what impact did they have on you?
Coach Moffitt was an amazing rock for me this year. As a math teacher and mom of three young kids, we related on the business of our lives. When I became incredibly overwhelmed at the beginning of this year with college applications, extracurricular responsibilities, and schoolwork, she had the utmost support for me. I am continuously inspired at her ability to have such a successful impact on the court and the classroom all while having the heart to care for her players/students and understand there is more to them than their skills. She also is the perfect representation of grace and understanding, both encouragements I needed many times, and I have no doubt she greatly contributed to my success at the beginning of this year.
