2018 Capital Bond Planning
The 2018 Capital Bond Planning Task Force (CBPTF) started meeting in December of 2016 to evaluate the capital needs of the district. The CBPTF submitted their final 2018 Bond Projects Proposal to the School Board in June 2017. The Capital Bond Planning Task Force will continue to meet approximately once per quarter throughout the remainder of the four-year term.
Projects funded by the 2018 Capital Bond will add much needed capacity, ease overcrowding district wide, and will address equity issues. The bond provides for safety and security updates at all schools; a new K-5 school on Maltby Road; a new 30-classroom flexible use building on the Skyview Middle/Canyon Creek Elementary campus; and a Concert Hall at Inglemoor High School to support both instruction and production. Building systems upgrades, outdoor instructional areas and athletics spaces will also be included.
In the last cycle of CBPTF work voters approved the 2014 Capital Bond, which included the construction of North Creek High School in the north end of the school district. Construction moved forward and North Creek High School opened in the fall of 2017 for grades 9-11. Fall 2018 will include a full four-year grade configuration, with its first Senior Class.
