Message to Families: Reopening School Buildings

Message to Families: Reopening School Buildings

Following many long days of interest-based bargaining over the last several weeks, the Northshore School District and the Northshore Education Association (NSEA) have reached agreements on a return to hybrid learning that are in accordance with Governor Inslee's March 15 Emergency Proclamation.

Our district's elementary schools (grades K-5) will begin a hybrid learning model on April 5. Secondary schools (grades 6-12) will begin a hybrid learning model on April 19.

I want to thank each member of the large team of educators, in a wide variety of roles, who worked through complex logistical details to ensure our students and staff can make a safe and smooth transition back to the school buildings.

Families of elementary students can find the elementary schedule here.

Families of students grades 6-12 are asked to review the details on this page and then complete the Intent to Return survey at the bottom of the page. We ask that all families of students in grades 6-12 submit the survey no later than 5 p.m. Friday, March 26, so school administrators and staff can plan accordingly.

Thank you for your partnership as we continue to navigate these challenging times.

Michelle Reid, Ed.D.
Superintendent
