I want to make you aware that a member of our Bothell High School staff informed us late yesterday that they have tested positive for the COVID-19 coronavirus and are now in self-quarantine. Our understanding at this time is the employee was last on campus on March 3 at the staff online training and in the 100 building. The staff member is being monitored by
Out of an abundance of caution, we have closed Bothell High School today Friday, March 13. All staff, with the exception of custodial staff, were asked to work remotely if possible. The meal pick-up service at Bothell High School is closed. We are also coordinating with the Support Services Department to do a deep cleaning of the building.
Please remember, the best protection against any virus is good hand hygiene. You can find information on the COVID-19 coronavirus, including symptoms to look for here. For other concerns or questions regarding the work day, please feel free to connect with me.
The Washington State Department of Health has established a call center to address questions from the public. If you have questions about what is happening in Washington State please call 1-800-525-0127 and press #.
Further, I want to remind each of us that here in Our House, we care for one another and support one another. We have staff and community members who are even now anxious about exposure risks and awaiting diagnosis either for themselves or a family member. Let us not forget to both act with precaution and be careful with our own health. Let’s also remember to be gentle with one another. We will continue to have challenges in front of us, and I know we can meet these challenges; together, all things are possible.
