The theme for this year’s Reading Challenge is Read Across the Solar System! Students can track how many minutes they read Feb. 1-28 and turn in a ticket for every 300 minutes (deadline 9:15 a.m., March 3). We will draw names for prizes, including two new bicycles (courtesy of Bikes for Books). Winners will be announced at the Literacy Night March 3.
Scholastic Book Fair March 2, 3, and 6
We are trying something new and doing a spring book fair to coincide with the PTSA Literacy Night.
Since it is not near the holidays, it will be a books-only fair. The school receives an extra 10% for two fairs. We need volunteers to help set up, take down, and staff registers! To sign up for a shift (half an hour to 1.25 hours), please go to http://signup.com/go/2gEh27 .

    The three-day fair will be:

Wed., March 1: Set up after school

    Thurs., March 2: 8:45 a.m.-9:10 a.m., lunch recesses, and after school until 4:30 p.m.

Fri., March 3: 8:45 a.m.-9:10 a.m., lunch recesses, after school until 4:15 p.m. and during Literacy Night

Mon., March 6: 8:45-9:10 a.m. and lunch recesses. Closed after school for take down.

    Birthday Book Program

Celebrate your child's birthday or other special occasion by donating a new book to our Library! The Birthday Book Club is a way for the library to increase its collection of books while commemorating your child's birthday. It is in lieu of our spring Scholastic book fair. The program also helps promote the lifelong love of reading. Alternatively, you can choose to honor a teacher or staff member. Here is a link to our Amazon wish list. Please see our side menu for more information.
