Tickets are now available for the Timbercrest Drama Club Spring Musical The Wizard of Oz. Tickets are $10 each and at the door will be $12. Here’s how to get your tickets:

NSD students, parents, or staff may order them through their student (staff) account and for any friends that may want tickets as well. We have limited the number of pre-sale tickets to 75 per show, so there are more available at the door.  If tickets are not available online it is probably because they have hit the pre-sale limit. We have advertised to the community that tickets are available at the door for $12 on a first-come first-served basis.

    • The website is: http://schoolsales.nsd.org/
    • Log in with school assigned username and password or as a Guest.
    • Select “Items At Student’s School” under the “SHOP” list.
    • At the top under “categories” there is a “Wizard of Oz”option.
    • You can buy for the quantity and shows you want there.
    • We will then have those tickets available at Will Call for each show.  (Will Call will open 45 min. prior to each show and doors will open 30 min. prior for general admission seating).

  • Wizard of Oz Important Information - Please Read

Posted by Douglas Poage on 3/9/2018
Hello Wizard of Oz Parents & Students,

We are only 6 weeks away from show time and the students are learning their parts, starting to memorize their lines, and things are beginning to take shape.  I just wanted to give you a heads-up about a couple of things and remind you of next week's rehearsal schedule.

    1.  Ticket Pre-Sale - will begin next week for cast/crew members and their families.  The Leota MS Theatre only holds 107 seats, so we will be holding 75 tickets per show for cast members and their families and school staff.  These sales will be done online through your student's account - using the schoolsales.nsd.org website (like when you paid school feels or purchase lunches).  If you do not know how to access your child's account please check with him/her or contact the school office or school website.

    2.  Leota Middle School Rehearsals - Believe it or not, in just 3 short weeks we will start moving our play to the Leota Middle School Theatre.  Starting on Monday, April 2nd, we will meet in the Drama Room, right after school - full cast and crew - load up on the school bus (ONE WAY ONLY) and head to Leota about 3:15pm.  Once we arrive we will unload and then rehearse in their theatre from about 3:45pm-6:00pm.  Parents must pick up students or arrange for rides in April FROM LEOTA MIDDLE SCHOOL - as we will NOT be returning to Timbercrest.  The bus only takes us ONE WAY!  Feel free to arrange rides or carpools with other families if you feel comfortable doing so.  These rehearsals will continue on the following Mondays/Tuesdays & Thursdays in April (after Spring Break), with some additional rehearsals on other days, as needed.

Bus to Leota - Dates: April 2, 3, 5, 16, 17, 19, 20, 23, & 24.  We will have Final Dress Rehearsal on Wednesday, April 25th @ an early call time 4:00-6:30pm (no school transportation).

    3.  Late Rehearsals Snack Schedule Sign-up - We have a parent who has agreed to organize a snack schedule for our April Rehearsals @ Leota MS.  I will be sharing your email with her and it will be a Sign Up Genius, so please be looking for that opportunity in the next week or so.  We'd appreciate people who are not able to help volunteer in person with the show to sign up to help with providing healthy snacks for the students.

    4.  Spring Break Plans?  Come help with the Wizard of Oz Set! - If you are not planning to leave town during Spring Break - (April 9-13) - we could use your help building and installing the sets at Leota Middle School.  Even if you don't know much about set construction or design, we could always use help with painting, making props, etc.  Please let me know if you are free and I will add you to the list of the work days during Spring Break!

    5.  Parent Work - Show Crew - We are still in need of some parents or older youth who can help us with:

    • Supervision during the rehearsals at Leota
    • Supervision Backstage or Stage Hand/Crew (moving sets)
    • Help with Back-Stage Jobs - i.e. Stage Mgmt, Make-up, Hair, Green Room, etc.
    • Help with Light Crew, Sound Crew, Costume Crew, Props Crew, etc.
Please complete the attached volunteer form if you haven't yet and email back to Mr. Poage or return with your student.  Crew leaders will be contacting you soon!
    Mr. Poage

  • Wizard of Oz Rehearsal Schedule Information

Posted by Douglas Poage on 1/3/2018

We will plan to have our first Wizard of Oz Cast "Kick-off" Celebration and Read-through (with CD) on Tuesday, January 30th after school in the Drama Room 120 @ 3:05-4:45pm.  A rehearsal schedule will be passed out at that rehearsal (and posted on the webpage) so that each performer knows when he/she will be needed for rehearsals.  In most cases, we will rehearse 3 days per week (Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays) to begin with, in the Drama Room after school from 3:05-4:40pm.

The TMS Activity Bus is available for students to take and picks up between 4:45-5:00pm to take students home (see Activity Bus Schedule for specific route and details).

The main/lead parts will likely rehearse the most (3 days a week), but chorus members and dancers will have specific days of the week (according to the schedule) that they will meet, likely 1-2 days per week.  However, when we get closer to the performance times (April) we will have more and likely longer rehearsals.

All students must be available during the two weeks before performance (April 16-20 & April 23-27) for dress and tech rehearsals at Leota Middle School.  (More info to come).
