On Sept. 28 during a ceremony in Olympia, the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) awarded the 2025 State Teacher of the Year honor to Kim Broomer, a kindergarten teacher at Ruby Bridges Elementary.

The Safety Study Hall is a library of information and resources on several important health and safety issues for schools, students, and families/caregivers. Created by the Washington State Department of Health in partnership with the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction and other organizations, the Safety Study Hall is a place to start learning about prevention strategies related to substance use, and the safe storage of prescription/over-the-counter medication, firearms, and ammunition.
Musicians from our high schools performed very well at the Northlake Regional Solo and Ensemble Contest on Feb. 8. A number of soloist and ensemble entries from our schools won first place in their divisions and will go on to compete at the state contest in April.

We offer a variety of Early Childhood Programs for children age three to five.
We offer 11 sports in middle school and 17 in high school. Most elementary schools offer sports as well.
Students prepare for life after school. Self-advocacy, work readiness, social emotional skills, and IEP goals are incorporated into daily activities.
