Each grade (kindergarten through 10th) has specific learning
expectations for students. OSPI has produced a one-page handout called
"Your Child's Progress" that broadly covers grade level expectations.
On the back, the handout also covers basic information on state testing
for grades 3 through 10. Here are grades K- 6:

Opportunity for Parent Preview of Sixth Through Eighth Grade Math Instructional Materials
The Northshore School District is concluding a math curriculum review and selection process of math textbooks for students in grades six, seven, and eight.
On Wednesday, November 18, 2009, the math textbooks under consideration for student use in grades six, seven, and eight will be available for community and parent preview. The textbooks will be on display from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the school district administration office at 3330 Monte Villa Parkway in Bothell. Math teachers who participated in the pilot textbook project will be present to answer questions about the new programs.

Are you a Woodin Family? Do you have a child who is elibible to start kindergarten next year (must be 5 yrs old by August 31st)? If so, we have a couple of upcoming events.

Math Expressions For Parents
Eduplace is a resource available to parents and families looking for additional math support for their student at home. Parents will find an eGlossary, Unit Overviews and letters, Math Background information and lots of great resources for studetns to use at home, including eGames and EManipulatives.

Type To Learn Available At Home
Type2Learn is now available for students to download at home and log in as they would at school to continue their progress towardkeyboarding proficiency!
Here's how:

Download and install the TTL4 program to a home computer at http://ttl4.sunburst.com/ downloads (because of the size of the download, the program could take 20-25 minutes).

Once the program is downloaded, there are instructions on the webiste for installation on either a Windows or Macintosh computer.

Students login to TTL4, Type to Learn 4, using the same username and password that is used at school - an account code for the school will also be needed. Students can visit http://www.nsd.org/ttl4home to retreive their school code.
