A Note from the Principal
You
have awesome Kids! Today was not a typical day at the schoolhouse.
Throughout the morning as we waited for power to be restored, your
students moved about their daily schedule as usual. The students were
respectful and well behaved. As I went from class to class checking in
with students and staff, it was evident that the students and staff practiced
flexibility and adjusted to the situation at hand. After all, isn't that
what life is about: adjusting to curve balls that get thrown our way. I
do appreciate your patience. Our office staff worked tirelessly this morning
answering the many phone calls that came in to ask pertinent and important
questions. All students received lunch. District maintenance crews
checked classrooms to monitor heat levels. Power was restored around
11:20 AM. I observed many students learning, collaborating, and enjoying
some time connecting with their peers and teachers. Please let me know if
you have questions, and, again, thank you for your continued support.

Warm Weather Dress Code
We
need your help in making sure students make good choices regarding
proper school attire. Shorts and skirts cannot be shorter that finger
tips when arms are straight at sides. Modestly cut tops must
completely cover undergarments with straps at least 1 1/2 inch wide.
Pants must be worn at waist with no undergarments showing. Should
your child come to school dressed inappropriately, they will be given
clothing to wear from the lost and found. Thank you for your
assistance!

Information on Swine Flu/Prevention Tips
Please check your children each morning
to make sure they are well enough to attend school. Symptoms of swine
flu include fever, sore throat, cough, body aches, headaches, chills,
and fatigue. If you or your child has these symptoms, stay home, and,
if needed, contact your health-care provider or consult with your
school nurse.
Northshore schools are working closely with public health
officials to plan for and prevent a swine flu outbreak. We will
continue to provide regular updates for parents and staff members.
