Running Start and College in the High School are programs that offer students college level courses while in high school.

The Running Start program allows juniors and seniors to attend community and technical colleges while still attending high school. This program allows qualified students to take college courses on the campuses of community college and technical schools and apply the credits toward high school graduation and toward potential college degrees. Tuition is paid by the Northshore School District.

College in the High School courses incorporate college freshman level curriculum into senior level classes taught on the high school campuses.  College credits are earned for these courses by completing the participating college's application and earning a minimum grade requirement set for the class.  Students are responsible for paying the application fee.

Considering the curriculum in both programs is college level, students who find the most success are strong academically and have great organizational and time management skills.

Deliveries for Students
Our administrative and counseling staff is always willing to deliver messages to students regarding family emergencies such as deaths, accidents, or severe illnesses. Other than these emergency situations, however, we are unable to deliver forgotten items, notes, flowers, balloons, or reminders to students for any other reason.  Not only are the logistics of delivering messages and gifts a challenge in a school our size and the interruptions to class a detriment to the learning environment, there are also serious potential safety and security issues involved in delivering unverified information/packaging to our students.  Please be certain that your son or daughter is aware, before coming to school, of any appointments for that day. It is a great lesson in personal responsibility for them and helps us to maintain a safe and productive educational environment for all of our students.
