	Northshore Summer Academy Registration Now Open

Schedule and registration information is now available for the Northshore School District Summer Academy program. Registration may be completed online, by mail or in person. Find complete class schedules and registration information at Secondary Summer Academy.


	District to Run a Supplemental Levy August 17, 2010

Northshore School District will run a $12 million Supplemental Educational Maintenance and Operations Levy on Aug. 17 to sustain funding support for student learning.

	SUPPLIES FOR 7/8/9 LANGUAGE ARTS AND SOCIAL STUDIES

These departments would like all students to have the following supplies to start the school year:

• yellow highlighter

• red correcting pen

• medium sized Post-Its (one pad)

• glue stick

• colored pencils

• blue/black ink pens, pencils

• notebook paper: loose, college ruled

• composition book (9 ¾ X 7 ½, bound spine, college ruled, any color/style cover)

A donation of a box of Kleenex for both LA/SS classroom would be appreciated

Science Supplies

Please remember to have the following supplies: Paper, pencils, scissors, glue stick, calculator, colored pencils, a box of tissue and a section in your notebook.

Math Supplies

• separate 3-ring binder (at least 1-inch in size, but no more than 1.5 inches)

• lined paper

• graph paper (1/4 inch)

• sharpened pencils with good earasers (all math work is done in pencil)

• red ink pen, used for corrections only

• 6-inch ruler (with inches and centimeters)

• pencil pouch to keep supplies in


	Leota Health/Fitness Uniform

All Leota students are expected to appropriately "dress-down" for PE; the Health & Fitness department has therefore established a basic dress code of "grays." The gray uniforms were chosen for many reasons, including (but in no way limited to) trying to choose a common and readily available color, one that is easier to keep clean (easier than white), and one that is typically much less expensive.

Leota PE uniforms are available for purchase from Believe It Sports ; please see the attached order form below or online by clicking on the link above. Orders for the 2010-2011 school year are due by Friday, Sept. 3. Students may wear comparable clothing purchased elsewhere, but no logos are allowed. Last names can be hand-written on all uniforms with a black marker once they are received.

	After School Study on Wednesdays

After school on Wednesdays, the Leota Library is available for students to do research, homework, work in small groups on projects, do word processing, and complete any other school assignments. Students should be prepared to work on classroom assignments. This is not a time for socializing, or just reading a book that is not part of a required assignment.

Students will be supervised and they must arrive in the library by 2:35. They will sign in there and must remain in the library until 4:25, when the Activity buses arrive. You can speak to Ms. Dickson on the phone in the library at 425-408-6511. Arrangements and permission from parents to stay for After School Study must be made ahead of time. Students must contact their parents by 2:25 using the office phone.
