Parent Teacher Association Parental involvement is the key ingredient in attaining a quality education for children. Success in school really does begin at home. A parent's attitude about school is the most powerful influence on a child's school success. Learning comes easier when parents are positively involved and a child's progress is rapid when parents and teachers work together. Just as children benefit from support at home, they also benefit when parents contribute their time and energy at school. Joining the PTA and volunteering in school can make a big difference. Each school has a PTA unit made up of volunteers working for the benefit of all children. Year after year, Northshore PTAs are recognized for their outstanding newsletters, programs and contributions to children within their schools and community. Local PTAs regularly sweep state awards because of parents who regularly contribute their individual service.
