STUDENTS:

NEW INFORMATION

Congratulations to the Science Club: for their first place finish at the Technobowl competition at UW on Saturday.  Team members include Marissa Lee, Vikram Akam, Karthik Ramesh, and Eric Falcon.

Buenos Dias Woodinville!!  This is a reminder that the Spanish Club event, Zumba, will be held tomorrow from 5-6 in the WHS yoga gym.  Remember staff, you get in free!  Everyone needs to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated.  See you all tomorrow!  Adios.

AP Testing Absences

  • ·   Students who are taking the AP exam will be allowed to have a school-related absence only for the testing window itself . This means if you have an AM test, you will need to return to school to attend classes after the test.  If you have a PM test, you will need to attend your AM classes until you have to travel to take the test.  Full-day school-related absences will not be allowed unless you have two AP exams on the same day
  • ·   Per standard attendance procedures, testing students who are not at school before or after their testing session will need to have their parent/guardian excuse those class period absences within 48 hours by a signed, written note or a phone call to the Attendance Office.  Those class period absences will not be school-related.  Please keep in mind that students with ten (10) class hours of excused or unexcused absences in any given class each semester will lose credit in each class, with an opportunity to appeal.

If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Schwans in the Attendance Office.  Thank you!

Attendance Q & A: Marked absent in error?

If your teacher or substitute teacher has marked you absent and you believe it is an error because you were in class, you must make contact with your teacher who can then advise the Attendance Office to update the attendance record.

  • ·   The Attendance Office cannot excuse a student marked absent by a teacher without confirmation from the teacher that there was an error

o Parents/guardians cannot write a note or call the Attendance Office to clear an absence of this nature

  • ·   Request that the teacher sign an Unexcused Absence Verification form or the teacher can email the Attendance Office to confirm

o Unexcused Absence Verification forms are available at the Attendance Office or can be downloaded from the WHS attendance website

  • ·   If you were marked absent by a substitute teacher, the process is the same - contact your regular classroom teacher to clear the absence

Please contact Mrs. Schwans in the Attendance Office if you have any questions!  Thank you!
