NEW INFORMATION

 

Hola Woodinville!!!  This is a reminder that ticket selling for the Spanish club Zumba event is going on now.  The Spanish Club invites all staff members and students that want to have a good time and get a good workout at the same time.  The event is going to be held Wednesday April 25th from 5:00 to 6:00.  The price is $6 with an ASB and $7 without.  Come to room 127 at options today and tomorrow to purchase.  Hurry there is limited attendance!!!  Adios amigos!!

 

SENIORS: Scholarship Notification Forms - If you have received a monetary award for a college that you plan to attend in the fall, we would like to hear about it and honor you at our Senior Awards Night on Thursday, June 7 at 6:30 pm in the WHS Gymnasium.  Students can pick-up Scholarship Notification Forms in the Counseling Center (M-F 6:30-3:00) or get one on the WHS Website.  The DEADLINE to SUBMIT forms is MAY 4.  Forms received after that date will not be included in the Awards Night program due to printing deadlines.

 

What are you doing during Spring Break?   If you are a senior needing money for college, Spring Break is a great time to get a jump on scholarship applications.  Stop by the Career Center before the break to pick-up local scholarship applications and don't forget to look at the entire list of scholarships on the WHS website.  Also, make sure you utilize online search engines such as washboard.org , www.fastweb.com , or www.scholarships.com in addition to the Career Cruising website to find scholarships that are a great fit for you.  See Mrs. Yamada or Mrs. Ackley if you have any scholarship questions.

 

Asian-Pacific Islander Engineering Scholarship: If you are of Asian or Pacific Islander heritage and interested in studying science, technology, or engineering in college you should apply for the CIE-Seattle APA Youth Scholarship presented by the Chinese Institute of Engineers.  Go to  www.cie-sea.org  to learn more about this scholarship and apply.  There are also scholarships open to younger students who are interested in science, technology and engineering in high school.  Scholarships are valued at $500 and the application period ends June 15, 2012.

In honor of National Library Month: the Woodinville High School Library and ASB will be hosting a book drive to honor Prudence Hockley.  If you have a special request for a book to be donated, please put the title of the book in one of the boxes in the library.  Spanish titles are welcome!  For a Wish List of more books that can be donated and for other information regarding the book drive please visit the WHS Library website.

 

$20,000 Private School Scholarship - Edmund F. Maxwell Foundation : If you are planning on attending a private college next year this could be a great scholarship for you.  The Edmund F. Maxwell Foundation is a local organization offering a $20,000 scholarship for Western Washington students who plan to enroll at a private college beginning next year.  The scholarship is $5,000 per year for four years.  Applications are due April 30, 2012. SENIORS - Grad Night Bus Signups: Today the students who bought their tickets during Falcon Days and in September will be able to choose the buses they want to ride to go to the party during options and lunch in the commons.  $150.00 for the Best Grad Party Ever !
